QuestionI am looking for a device where I will be able to communicate with my wife when I am on a hunting trip in Idaho. Will this allow texting or is there a satellite phone where we will be able to have voice conversations?

QuestionIn spec s it says map coverage area is US, Canada and Mexico. I hike in Peru, SE Asia and Australia? Does this mean I can’t use the maps or gps features? Thanks

- Answer Hi Mark, These are only the pre-loaded maps on the device, the inReach Explorer + can load up to 2 GB of maps worldwide at no additional cost.

QuestionWould this be a good GPS for hunting? I want to remember my locations of my kills and drop a pin and have it remember it. As well as the emergency calls which is great. Just want to know if any hunters use them.

- Answer Yes, you can activate and suspend your Freedom plan subscription anytime you like. The only caveat is there is a minimum 30 day commitment each time you activate your subscription before you can suspend it again. - Answer Hi Teddy, Yes, you will be able to send message with this handheld. You will be able to track the GPS by using a feature in your inReach account called MapShare. - Answer Bought mine for trip to Italy at in town store! Ordered itThursday, delivered to my house following Tuesday! Store would have had it by Thursday for my pick up ! They did not keep product on hand ! But arranged immediatel early delivery to my house !! No problem! Purchased in advance, bought a 2 year repair plan with it !! Which I’ll never use ! This thing is built very well !! Great Service !! Garmin In-Reach SE+ Explorer !

- Answer inreach bought out delorme, you don't need internet when there's no internet available there is a keyboard in the messaging you can send messages via satelite everything else you download maps from your computer awesome device
