• A:Answer You don't need a cord nor to pay for an install if you have a powered rear view mirror. Simply buy the cable that connects between the power cable and the mirror, then connect your camera to the port of that new short cable, which will power the camera. This short cable is car manufacturer specific, check before you buy it.

• A:Answer I had plugged it to my 12V car charging port using garmin usb charging adapter. The camera in itself works on 5V. Or you can plus the usb cable that comes with the camera directly to the car’s USB port. I’ve tested this in house with my cellphone charger USB port and my power bank.
