Q: QuestionComparing to the 2597...I'm looking at purchasing a Garmin today (in the next few hours) and was going to buy the 2597. Amazon is showing that the 2539 is a newer model. Can you tell me what the differences might be and which one is better?

• A:Answer The nüvi 2597LMT includes Bluetooth technology as well as Voice Command and a 2.5 hour battery while the nüvi 2539LMT does not include these features and has a 2 hour battery. Thank you! ~QKO

• A:Answer A basemap is a very basic map, which only includes state/country borders and sometimes major highways. A detailed map contains all of the address, points of interest, street, speed limit, directional, and other information needed for the device to navigate. • A:Answer Yes, it does. Older nüvi (and StreetPilot) models used a resistive touchscreen, which required pressure to detect your touch. This nüvi (and most other current models) uses a capactitive touchscreen, which works like modern smartphone displays. Instead of detecting pressure, it detects your touch. This means it should be able to detect your touch easily with hard presses, but it does mean that it won't detect your touch if you're wearing gloves unless you are wearing gloves specifically designed for use with touchscreens. -JPK

• A:Answer Yes, both devices can accept routes created on the computer using Garmin BaseCamp (garmin.com/basecamp). Once the route is loaded, additional waypoints and shaping points can be added on the device to modify the route. ^DK
