QuestionWill the unit turn on and off with the vehicle ignition?

- Answer Yes as long as it is plugged in to the car adapter it will turn on and off along with the car, when ignition is turned off it asks if you wish for it to turn off or can cancel so that it stays on if your only going to be away for short time but has an auto off feature as well I believe in case youre gone longer.

- Answer Yes it verbally tells you if your destination is on the left or right. It also showes you on the screen.

- Answer The needed traffic antenna is built in to the vehicle power cable. No other cables are needed.

- Answer No, these maps cannot be deleted. You can, however, install just a region of mapping that includes only the area you need. Simply reinstall maps using Garmin Express (http://garmin.com/express), and choose to install a region. You can see the breakdown of regions in our FAQ here: http://bit.ly/2dq3fBb \tw/

QuestionCan the Garmin Nuvi 2589 be powered by USB?I have a two port USB convertor in the cigarette lighter outlet of my car that is used to charge cell phones and iPods while traveling. Can I charge/power my GPS thru one of the USB ports (leaving one available to charge/power other devices), or must I use the dedicated lighter plug to GPS cord?

- Answer Yes, the Nüvi 2589lmt allows the use of shaping points to allow you to "shape" a custom route to your preference on an automotive device. You may insert a shaping point (up to 125 per trip) into a custom route to direct your device to use a specific street in navigating to your destination.
