- Answer It came with a windows mount but I prefer the garmin dash pad mount as it stays in place better in hot weather when suction cup mounts sometime fails. The dash type mount is also faster to move to other car.

- Answer Using the Trip Planner feature, you can create custom routes on the nüvi 2689LMT. There are several models which do this. QuestionDoes this 2689LMT have a pause feature? When traveling it's necessary to stop for pit stops and snacks, etc. Having a guidance system that stays on task is great, but also annoying if you see something you want to check out and go off coarse.

- Answer My unit reprogrammed the route and will tell you how get back towards your destination. You could turn down the volume, "sightsee a little" and turn the volume back up when you are ready to resume your trip.

- Answer Tc, the nüvi 2689LMT includes Voice-activated navigation (operate device with spoken commands) and speaks street names (e.g. "Turn right ON ELM STREET in 500 ft."). ~QKO

- Answer Although the 2689LMT does not have an external antenna (nor is it compatible with them), it shouldn't need one. I have seen no reports of interference caused by heating elements or rain sensors. -JPK

- Answer We bought a new one on sale instead of updating as the electronics are more advanced, more features and no more annoying, Recalculating announcement, it just finds you another route. We also noticed that it didn't lose the satelites as often.

- Answer Yes, the nüvi 2689LMT does support mapping of the UK, however it is not included with the device. Additional mapping can be added as a preloaded SD card or as a download through the Garmin website as an accessory purchase. ^DK

- Answer The nüvi 2689LMT does not support off-road navigation, however we do have other devices that support a variety of mapping including BLM and automotive. I recommend you check out the Montana 680t (part number 010-01534-11), as this device supports multiple map types and should suit your needs. \tw/

QuestionOld 7 yr model nuvi 260WI have an older model nuvi 260W from April 2009,.it has been very good,. This morning it came up saying it needed updating. After the initial opening menu it jumps to the traffic screen, we cannot get it to where we can click the destination where we want to go in Lubbock. That was not fun without the directions. We did manage to get where we wanted to go, but went out of our way until we recognized some things. It also said charging at one point and I have never seen that before either. I have no cable in the box to download, so is there any hope for the old one. It still shows the direction of travel and the actual speed which is about all now. It never had the ability to show the speed limit as the newer ones do which is nice.

QuestionHow to get Traffic updates to work?Do i need something else for the traffic updates to work? I use the car charger that came with this gps. But it says that traffic is not compatible with the car charger. I read in one of the answers that someone asked and someone responded that the car charger that comes with the gps is all you need for the traffic thing to work. I do have the traffic to be turned on on the device its self. its asking to use a charger thats compatible with traffic. Has this happened to anyone, or do i just have a bad car charger?
