Yes, the watch has an ATM 5 water rating. It is not rated for diving but swimming, splashing,showering etc., Debbie with Garmin

Nothing is certified "waterproof" anymore because they don't want that warranty liability. Pool Swim is one of the activities available to be tracked on this watch, and it's water "resistant" up to 164 feet. I've not had any issues, although I've only submerged mine for a few seconds at a time.
