I just replaced my JVM3160RF3SS with what I thought was a JMV3160RFSS (notice the 3 is missing from 3SS) from Best Buy. But the model number on the actual unit is JVM3160RF6SS. So, I bought what I thought was JMV3160RFSS because I couldn't find the JMV3160RF3SS anywhere. I can tell you that with the JVM3160RF6SS the screw holes on top of the microwave don't exactly line up with the JMV3160RF3SS. I purchased what I thought was the same model I had before specifically so everything would line up and it would be an easy install. Not so fast my friend! The holes were slightly off, super frustrating.

Tried to replace JVM3160RFSS, ended up with JVM3160RF8SS. Right side under cabinet mounting hole lines up, left is off by at least an inch. Even the template that come with the new one, shows the old configuration. Kind of a big deal as installing an over range microwave is no picnic.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just replaced my 6yr old JVM3160RF3SS with what I thought was a JVM3160RFSS (per the sticker on the outside of the box). Luckily. I still had my 22yr old Whirlpool countertop microwave in stroage to use temporarily. Pulling it out of the box & the label shows it's a JVM3160RF9SS. Yes, the bolt holes don't line up. Its aggravating but you can make do (nobody will see the bolts in at angles). My biggest concern was the old mounting brackets on the wall fitting the new oven (see pic). I had to bend down the two middle tabs as there are no openings for them on the bottom of the new oven. I'm not all that handy but was able to swap them out in a few hours, in the same space.

My old one opens fine but the new one opens to like a .5" more wider...But theyare trying to tell me they are the exact same and clearly they arent
