QuestionDoes this have the venting on the bottom?

- Answer no, the venting is top, back or front, i have it to the front, which is on top and in front of the microwave you can switch the fan direction to blow out the top front

- Answer I'd have to say there's a good chance of that, especially if it's the same model year as the one you have. But if not, the mounting bracket isn't a deal breaker because they are very easy to swap out.

- Answer This is what I did and I suggest that you do the same. I called GE customer service and gave them the model number of my existing microwave and asked them what microwave I can replace it. It should be the same measurements. The installation may not be same just like mine because you have to remove the old brackets . Believe me I did it all by myself.

- Answer Hi Ted, thanks for reaching out! This product requires a three-prong grounded outlet. Product rating is 120 volts AC, 60 Hertz, 15 amps, and 1.70 kilowatts. This product must be connected to a supply circuit of the proper voltage and frequency. Wire size must conform to the requirements of the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code for this kilowatt rating. The power supply cord and plug should be brought to a separate 15 to 20 ampere branch circuit single grounded outlet. The outlet box should be located in the cabinet above the microwave oven and away from any potential microwave ducting. The outlet box and supply circuit should be installed by a qualified electrician and conform to the National Electrical Code or the prevailing local code. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael

- Answer Hi Barneybaby! Thanks for reaching out! All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy! - NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. - You can view a nice replacement for your model by searching for this model: JVM6172DKBB. If you don't like the model we suggested, you can also search for similar models: JVM3160DFBB, JVM6175DKBB, PVM9179DKBB. We hope that this helps! Stay safe. -Michael

QuestionWe just had our microwave installed, but when turning the exhaust fan off, it's really loud and sounds like it doesn't want to stop, Like it is hitting something as it stops. We haven't cooked anything, this is just testing the buttons. Is this normal?

- Answer Hello Angel, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your over the range microwave. We are sorry to hear you are experiencing a loud sound and know this must be frustrating. A fan where the internal components are located will run continuously while the microwave is in operation to constantly circulate the air and cool the working parts. It is normal for the internal fan for the electronics to continue to run for a few seconds after the microwave cycle is complete, even if the door is opened. This fan does not circulate air in the cavity. That being said, if it sounds like the exhaust fan is hitting something this is not a normal sound that we would expect from our microwaves.
