Hello Nick - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Yes, the JVM3160DFWW would be a great replacement for a current GE over-the-range microwave that you have. You would need to adjust the blower motor to be internally vented and purchase a charcoal filter. The Installation Instructions explain how to adjust the unit for internal venting. You would also need to use the mounting bracket and hardware that comes with the new microwave as they have changed over the years. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
