Hi AGST- This is Sue at GE Appliances. Thanks for your purchase! The cardboard cover on the right top or side wall of the microwave interior is there by design. The cardboard (mica) covers the waveguide system that feeds microwave energy into the cavity and should not be removed. The microwave should not be used for any function if this cardboard cover is not in place. If removed, it would require service to replace. Thanks for checking with us!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I left mine attached. I didn't notice anywhere in the manual to remove it and I have used the microwave and haven't had any problems with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I saw that too, looks almost like an instruction manual. We installed the microwave without doing anything with that. It looked like there was no way to get it out without disassembling the microwave so you have to assume it's probably not intended for the consumer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This may be the waveguide and it is not intended to be removed. The purpose of it is to block food particles from getting into the internals of the microwave.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Leave it alone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.DO NOT REMOVE IT!! I asked GE directly when I bought mine & if you remove it you'll have to get a tech to replace it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't remove unless otherwise instructed to do so. If in doubt, contact the manufacturer.
