I tried everything I could find online to help me with this problem. Then I tried one more time by pushing only the word “reset”. I did not push the red light. It worked!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi - The Upfront Filter design found on select GE Series and Profile Series over-the-range microwaves allows for easy access to the charcoal filter and requires no tools to change the filter. Open the microwave door and press the access panel above the cavity opening where it says "PUSH" to lower the panel door. Models with an Upfront Filter have a Reset Filter notification light on the control panel to indicate when it is time to change the filter. The light will illuminate after approximately 6 months of use to alert user to replace the charcoal filter (if used) and clean/replace the grease filters. Reset by pushing and hold 3 seconds. When the Filter Replace LED turned on, replace filter and press Reset Filter and hold for 3seconds to reset. If the filter light remains on after reset, try resetting the microwave electronics by unplugging or by turning off power at the circuit breaker for 30 seconds or so. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.GE's 3 seconds is more like 5 or more seconds. First thing to try is to hold the button down longer. If that doesn't work then unplug for a minute and plug back in. If that doesn't work you will need a repair.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I unplugged my ge microwave then plugged it back in. I then followed the instructions right below the light it reset the light in three seconds like it says

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem. I had to hit the cancel button first then then reset, and it worked for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I finally got the light to go OFF by pressing on the word reset….not the red light. It only took 3 weeks to figure out GE’s thinking.
