QuestionA microwave with a recirculating fan simply means it will vent back into the kitchen and not out a vent to an external location. Correct?

- Answer Yes, that is correct. This unit can be used with or without outside ventilation.

QuestionI'm looking for a replacement for and old unit JVM1790SK can you recommend one that will fit in the existing mount over the range or if I purchase JNM3163rjss does it come with a wall mount - I plan to use their installers

- Answer Hi Bob - We are sorry to hear your GE Microwave Model # JVM1790SK needs replacing and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Model JNM3163rjss is a great choice. All GE 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. We certainly appreciate your loyalty. QuestionWhere is the plug located? is it on the back or top, which side? I am replacing an old Whirlpool and considering this unit. I'm also concerned about the slight size difference. Will this fit - the old specs on my WP were 29 15/16, D 15 3/8 H 16 1/4?

- Answer Hi barb! Thanks for your question and interest in our microwaves. This unit's power cord is located on the top towards the right side if you are facing the unit. The dimensions of this microwave are 16 7/16 H x 29 7/8 W x 15 7/8 D. We cannot verify that this unit will fit since they are different dimensions and we do not know the cutout dimensions of your cabinet. We're sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. Questionge model#JV316DJWW does the vent motor suppose to run whenever you use the microwave? pushing the vent button only gives you speed of motor does not turn it off. is this the way it is suppose to work? Or do I have a faulty unit?

- Answer This microwave has an Automatic Vent fan feature. It turns on when it senses that the heat is too high. If you'd like, you can view more on this on page 16 of the Use and Care manual.

- Answer Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The vent fan has two metal reusable vent filters on the bottom of the unit. You can see how to remove and clean these on page 18 of your owner's manual here: https://files.bbystatic.com/MNdjrWQbMIA4KaGngiqGeA%3D%3D/5d220b7c-8bce-47fc-be7b-739fb4e6bd3a.pdf - If your microwave is set up for recirculation, you should know that the charcoal filter can only be replaced, not cleaned.
