Q: QuestionI need a replacement for GE JVM1850SM1SS over-the-range microwave oven. Which GE model does have the exact specs and dimensions to replace it?

Q: QuestionHi, I purchased this microwave yesterday, but I just realized it doesn’t have a removable filter for recirculating ventilation. I cannot use external ventilation as I live in an apartment. Can this microwave be installed with recirculating ventilation?

All current OTR (over-the-range microwaves), including convection, Advantium ovens, vent hoods, and telescopic downdraft vents can be installed over gas ranges and cooktops* with combined surface burner BTU rating of approximately 65,000 BTUs or less. As long as the 66" minimum clearance from the floor to the top of the microwave is followed there will be no performance or warranty issue. We hope this is helpful! • A:Answer Hey there, We can definitely understand how ear grating the beeping sound can get. Fortunately, there is a way to turn off that beeping. • A:Answer Hi there, thanks for your interest in our microwaves! All over-the-range microwaves have an automatic fan feature to help protect the electronic components as well as help the cooking area get rid of excess heat. The built-in thermostat automatically turns the vent fan on if the unit is too hot and will not turn off until the microwave is cool again. You will not be able to turn the vent fan off manually during this time. With that said, there are different settings to dictate fan speed so although we may not be able to pinpoint a "quietest" microwave, we can let you know we don't expect you to have too big of issue with the sound level of any microwave you were to purchase. Q: QuestionI have this microwave and I was wondering how much wattage is dropped when reducing power. I just made peanut brittle like I’ve done for 15 years in my old one and it burned it. Help! I need this goodie for Christmas.

• A:Answer Hi - We hate to hear you're having difficulty making your Christmas goodies. Power levels are a percentage of "on time" for the magnetron tube which cycles on and off to obtain the various levels. Each power level gives the microwave energy for a certain percent of the time. Power level 7 is microwave energy 70% of the time. Power level 3 is energy 30% of the time. Your new microwave may heat at a higher cooking wattage than your previous model. Therefore, we would recommend reducing the cooking time and leaving the power level the same to achieve the results you have in the past. We do recommend using the new mounting bracket and hardware that will be packaged with the new unit. Your existing model - JVM1850SM2SS offers 1.8 cubic foot capacity and a number of great sensor cooking features like Beverage, Popcorn, and Potato and much more. When a model is manufactured, these extra letters/numbers, such as the "1" at the end of your unit's model number, are placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance. Q: QuestionHi. I have to replace a model JVM1850SM2SS, which according to spec has a 16" height. It looks like this model has similar dimensions except for the height. To avoid having to reinstall the bracket, should I look for another model? If so, which? Thanks.

Also, all 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening so you can choose any model as a replacement. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. Q: QuestionI have a GE jvm3162rj3ss. Manufactured in 2020.replaced the previous same model not more than 2 years ago. Now the entire door assembly falls apart. I am not sure if it is a good idea to replace the door or the microwave. Which model will be a fit ?

As a result, any of our current 30” over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30” over-the-range model. This makes the replacement process simple, and JVM3162RJSS will indeed work! Please note that you should use the mounting bracket and hardware that comes included with the new microwave, as that hardware is model specific and we cannot guarantee the compatibility or reliability if you use old hardware. • A:Answer Your current model is 1.8 cubic ft. and this model is only 1.6 cubic ft. It will fit in your space, but the interior isn't as large as your current model. We recommend replacing your microwave with model JVM7195DKWW.
