- Answer Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. Yes, this model has the option of converting it to a non-vented recirculating exhaust. In fact, all of our over-the-range microwaves can be vented through the top, out the back or recirculating. You will need to follow the instructions in the Installation Instructions on how to properly change the venting. If you are changing from a vented unit to a non-vented unit, you will need to purchase a charcoal filter. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

QuestionTimer Sound, need to be able to hear itDoes this product have a volume control (off, low, med, high)? The new microwaves have such a low sound beep, they cannot be heard unless you are standing right in front of the unit. We use the timer regularly and need to hear it when the timer goes off and not watching it, such as sitting at the kitchen table. Thank you.

- Answer Hello Peggy - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you with regard to this wonderful microwave. You will see on the control panel that there is a pad called "Sound". With this button, the beeper sound can be adjusted. Press "Sound". Next, press 0-3 for mute to loud. I hope this information is helpful! Thanks for checking with us!

QuestionIs the stainless steel over the range microwave door also stainless steel?I have a kenmore unit, the door is made of some type of plastic material, the heat from the stove has damage the door. When you say stainless steel over the range microwave, is the complete unit stainless steel including the door?

- Answer Hi-this is Sue from GE Appliances. It's exciting to hear of your interest! Over-the-range microwaves must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. - Answer I would say use the wire rack that it came with. Thats likely the reason they opted not to have such an option .

- Answer Installation is not included with the price and it is somewhat time consuming especially if you've never installed a microwave before. It is important to read and understand the directions if doing it yourself.
