Hi 0521 - Thanks for choosing GE! When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. We suggest viewing the Installation guide at the following link for complete details: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40765.pdf - Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recently bought an over-the-range microwave and had it installed. I replaced my older one with the newer model. Installation(Replace Range Hood) & Required parts is for those who don't have an existing over-the-range microwave, just a range hood. You would need an existing wall and cabinetry. The installer would need to convert the electrical supply to a 110V electrical outlet and connect to duct work. Installation (Standard) & required parts is what I chose and it was simply taking my old over-the-range microwave out and installing the new one into existing connections.
