This model comes from the factory set for outside venting, however, it has a non-vented installation option; it can be converted to recirculating venting. Some microwaves had the marketing name XL1800 printed on the control panel which indicated the cavity size (1.8 cubic feet- XL1800: JVM1840, JVM1841, JVM1842, JVM1850, JVM1851, JVM1860, JVM1861, JVM1870, JVM1871). All GE 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for your existing 30" over-the-range XL 1800 model. Comparable models are GE Profile™ 2.1 Cu. Ft. QuestionHow do I change the power level on GE overthe range microwave Model #JvM7195skss

- Answer First press “cook time” and enter how many minutes and seconds you’d like to cook. Then press “power level” and press 1 for 10% power and so on up to 9 for 90% power. It will display “PL1” do 10% for instance. Once you see that just press the Start/Pause button.

QuestionOne reviewer mentions the light underneath hangs down too far below the unit? Is this the case? The light on our current GE microwave is flush. I wish there was a picture included with the review.

- Answer The light hangs only about 1/2” lower than the rest of the microwave, so for us, it is not an issue. See attached photos.

QuestionIf the charcoal filter is not replaced when dirty,will that shut down the micro wave. Everything works, fan, lights etc. but turntable does not turn and micro does not function.

QuestionI just installed this microwave (really like it so far) but I noticed at night that the display lights lights up my entire kitchen. Is there a way to dim the light setting on the display screen? Will it eventually die down some?

- Answer Hi, Thanks for asking! We appreciate you choosing GE Appliances and we'd like to help. We found that there is not a way to dim the display lighting. However, you can turn the display On/Off. This can be done by pressing and holding the Display On/Off button for about 3 seconds. Over-the-Range Sensor Microwave Oven JVM7195SKSS is the current replacement for model JVM7195SF1SS. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions. Model JVM7195EKES (Slate) is a great choice. It is also available in Stainless Steel- JVM7195SKSS. This model is factory assembled for outdoor venting but can be converted to recirculating (non-vent). - Answer Its so hard to find a recirculating model. You have to open the specs on each model. You can't search by this characteristic and its not included in the thumbnail summary.
