Hello Ron - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Yes, a 17.5 cubic foot refrigerator would be considered a popular size refrigerator. I hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's "standard" in size, but not large. When our previous 21 cf. refrigerator finally died after >20 yrs., we opted for a smaller refrigerator. The new one is slightly shorter and slightly narrower than the larger older one, but is the same depth (26 inches front to back, plus 2" for the depth of the doors.) Main shelves are adjustable, so you can fit a lot into it. The door shelves don't adjust. There's also a removable freezer shelf.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this used to be considered a standard size. We raised a family with 4 kids owning a refrig this size (plus a small chest freezer is nice to have if you have a place for it). But when our boys got to be teens, a larger unit was almost a real "need" to keep up with all the groceries needed. Nowadays, I think this size is less than the most popular choices 18-21.5 cu ft.
