Hello Kenny, I am happy to help. The recommended refrigerator temperature is 37 degrees F. Temperature measurements in the fresh food and freezer compartments should never be made of the air. Air temperature fluctuates during defrost and during door openings. When taking a temperature measurement in the refrigerator section: The best way to measure temperature is to place a bulb type or candy thermometer that is capable of reading below zero temperatures directly into a container of food or liquid that has been in the refrigerator or freezer compartment for at least twenty-four (24) hours. When checked first thing in the morning the temperature reading should be between 34-42 degrees Fahrenheit in the refrigerator section and between -5 and +8 degrees Fahrenheit in the freezer section. I hope this helps. Thank you for checking with us. Lisa from GE Appliances.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The refrigerator should be located in an area that will not go below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. If installed below this temperature, the unit will run but may not run often enough to maintain proper temperatures.
