A:Answer Hi May - Thanks for choosing GE! We're glad to have you in the family. The adjustable humidity controls helps food stay fresh. You can keep fruits and vegetables organized in separate compartments for easy access. Many vegetables, especially leafy green vegetables, need a high humidity storage. Best for foods like: artichokes, celery, parsley, asparagus, peas, green onions and leeks, beets, corn, radishes, broccoli, leafy greens, rhubarb, brussel sprouts, spinach, tomatoes, cabbage, lettuce, carrots, parsnips, turnips, cauliflower, cherries, blueberries, and currants. Choose low humidity for your fruits. Many fruits and some vegetables do not require much moisture for short term preservation. Best for foods like: apples, oranges, apricots, peaches, raspberries, tangerines, nectarines, grapes, pears, strawberries, summer squash, and mushrooms.
For high humidity, slide the lever to the far left. For low humidity, slide the lever to the far right. Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
