Hello there - this is a wonderful question! This portable dishwasher uses a condensate drying method. With this drying system design, condensation will form on cooler surfaces in a warm humid environment. At the end of a cycle, while the dish load is still hot, the stainless steel tub walls are already cooling down and pulling condensation to form on the tub walls instead of the dishes. This provides natural air drying of the dish load. The use of a rinse agent ensures spot and film protection for dishes and assists the drying process. We hope this is insightful! Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This portable GE dishwasher does not dry dishes. I didn’t find any 18" portable by any manufacturer that does. But what i do is this - after dishwasher has cooled down, open the door fully down and slowly pull the top rack forward. Then i just turn the cups, bowls, etc over to remove any accumulated rinse water. Then return the top rack and do the same with the bottom rack. I do the top rack first since it tends to have more things that trap water. I then prop the door open slightly to get more airflow, and i find that most things have air dry nicely later that day.
