A:Answer Hello. We appreciate you taking the time to reach out, though we truly hate to hear you’ve had an issue with ice taking a bit to dispense; we know that may be concerning, especially with a new refrigerator. We do expect a slight delay when switching from cubed to crushed ice. As the icemaker itself is working but there’s a delay in dispensing, you might want to check that there are no clumps or blockages that may be preventing the ice from immediately dispensing. You might also want to make sure there’s enough ice in the bucket to immediately dispense – the more ice in the bucket, the faster the dispenser will be. We have instructions for using the dispenser on page 16 of the Use and Care Manual, as well as Troubleshooting Tips that start on page 33. If those may be useful, you can view the manual by going to our GE website, searching for the model number, and going to the product page; there’s a link to the manual under the ‘Owner Support’ link. We hope those tips will help. The cradle can be held down for several seconds without harm to the dispenser. If you aren’t able to resolve the delay concern and think service may be required, that department is available at 1-800-432-2737; a technician would be glad to examine the dispenser. If you have any other concerns or questions, we are happy to offer assistance any time. Wishing you all the best! -Sarah@GEA
