Hi Haze- We're glad you like our GE® ENERGY STAR French-Door Refrigerator GNE25JSKSS! To set the alarm, press the Door Alarm pad. This alarm will sound if either door is open for more than 2 minutes. The beeping stops when you close the door. The volume is not adjustable. We hope this is helpful. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The alarm beep only sounds if you have the doors open for a longer period of time and the internal temperature changes. Since the doors do not close automatically when they are fully open, this will help to remind me to close the doors. Did not find an adjustment for the volume, but its not extremely loud.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The alarm is a beeping noise. It goes off after you leave the door open for around 30 seconds or more. I have not found a way to control the volume but it's not that loud - softer than the alarm that beeps when my dishwasher and dryer are done.
