QuestionI have a model JRP28SK4SS GE double wall oven. When I turn on the lower oven the upper oven also goes on and reaches the same temperature as the lower oven, ?

- Answer Hi - Thank you for having purchased a GE double wall oven. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may be causing you. To clarify, when using the lower oven, you will turn the mechanical temperature control dial to your desired temperature. When baking in the upper oven, you set your cooking function and desired temperature using the electronic control panel. If you are setting the controls as described and continue to have difficulty please call GE service at 1-800-432-2737 to schedule an appointment to have the unit repaired. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

QuestionSelf-Cleaning1. Are both ovens self cleaning? The documentation on the website indicates that the upper oven is self cleaning, but doesn't mention the lower oven. The best buy specification sheet states "Self-clean oven –Conveniently cleans oven cavity without the need for scrubbing" which is ambiguous. 2. Is either oven a convection oven?

QuestionAre both ovens vented? Is there anything additional needed for the installation? There are currently same size ovens in place but only upper oven is vented. Thank you.

- Answer Hello- Thanks so much for your question. We are happy to help! The vent is below the door to keep electronics cooler, improve appearance, and provide a better door seal at the top. This 24" double wall oven does not vent to the outside. It vents through the oven doors. There are vents at the top of the door from which the heat will escape. - Answer Hello. This 24" electric double wall oven requires 30 amp breaker for 240 volts. You will have no issue. Geoff@GEA

- Answer Hi wilder1977 - All ovens must be hard wired (direct wired) into an approved junction box. A “plug and receptacle” is not permitted on these products. Flexible conduit included. - Answer No. I just reviewed these ovens. The ovens I have do not have correct temperature control. I have to constantly monitor whatever I am baking. I have my second servce appoint this month and they were delivered 2 months go

QuestionWe have a GE double oven and the automatic door lock engages and won’t unlock. It is doing it again. The parts are no longer available. It appears this is a common problem with GE ovens. Can you confirm this problem has been resolved on the new models.

QuestionWill a half sheetpan fit in this oven? It looks like the bend in the rack cuts the depth. Is there alternate rack that I could use? Thank you.

- Answer Hello- We appreciate your question and are happy to help! You are correct, approximately 1-3/16" is not usable due to the rear bend. The distance from inside edge of inner door liner to the 1st step on the oven rack is 15 ¼". Distance from inside edge of inner door liner to the rear bend on the oven rack is 16 ¾". Distance from inside edge of inner door liner to the cavity back is 18 1/8". Overall oven rack dimensions are approximately 17-1/16" deep by 16-3/4" wide. Note: The overall rack depth is 17-1/16" but approximately 1-3/16" is not usable due to the rear bend. A half sheet pan wouldn't fit. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. - Answer Thank you for asking if the new model will fit in your present cutout opening. It will not work as the model JRP28SK is as follows. Cutout Dimensions (w x h x d) (in.) 22-1/2 x 48-1/8 x 23-1/2. Your present model of JK955SF3SS is a 27" model double wall oven. Hope this helps you out. Geoff@GEA

QuestionAfter 26 years our ovens have stopped working. They look just like model: JRP28BJBB. Serial # is WB15K5068. The cabinet opening is 24 and 7/8 inches across and 50.5 tall, the depth is 23". The inside of the oven is 23"across. Will this model work?

This model is a designed to fit in a 24" width cabinet opening like your current unit. This model has an overall width of 23.75", height of 48.625", and depth of 23.125". For installation, it requires the following cutout dimensions (w x h x d): 22.5 x 48.125 x 23.5. While it offers similar dimensions to those you have provided, some slight adjustments may have to be made for this replacement. - We would love the opportunity to help you with this further! In order for us to offer you a comparison of these installations, this would require the full model and serial numbers of your current unit. These numbers can be found on your rating plate, which will be located inside the oven door on the front face.
