I thought the same thing when I installed it. But the design makes insulation unnecessary. It is VERY quiet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was surprised to see no insulation as my old one had it on there but without it this thing is quiet as a library. We did have the first one replaced due to a clunking sound during the wash cycle and the replacement is working great.
