Q: QuestionIf the Door Alarm button is accidentally pressed, how can it be deactivated. I've aligned the doors, moved all food items out of the way, unplugged the unit for 30+ seconds...and it still blinks and beeps every 2 to 3 minutes.

• A:Answer Hello, and thanks for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear you've had an issue with the Door Alarm and know that must be an inconvenience. We would like to help resolve. The Door Alarm is meant to sound if the door is open for more than 3 minutes. Normally the light will go out and the beeping will stop once the door is closed again. We understand you have checked the doors for any obstruction, but you may want to also check the gasket around the door's perimeter, to make sure there is no kink or gap that could be preventing the door from completely closing and sealing. If you are not able to stop the alarm with that step, you may want to consider scheduling service. Q: QuestionI have Reviewed the users manual and am still unable to find how to turn the ice maker on in this model. Is there anything that shows an image of where the on/off switch is?

• A:Answer Hi - Thank you for having chosen a GE refrigerator for your home. The switch is shown on Page 15 of the Owner's Manual. You will need to lift out the ice bin in order to access the switch located on the side of your icemaker. We do hope this helps. Vikki@GEA

• A:Answer Hi Steve. If your door frame is not wide enough for this unit, you can remove the doors if need be. Instructions on how to do so can be found starting on page 23 of your Installation Instructions. Don't forget to measure your doorways and entry ways in both your existing and new home! Q: QuestionI have fruit flies. I’ve removed everything from my fridge and freezer. Cleaned every inch inside and dried it out. Put item back, but every 6-8 hours I have fruit flies in the entrance bottom in both fridge/freezer. How to rid of them? Drip pan?

The new high efficiency compressor may run faster and longer than your old refrigerator and you may hear a high-pitched hum or pulsating sound while it is operating. You may hear the fans spinning at high speeds. This happens when the refrigerator is first plugged in, when the doors are opened frequently or when a large amount of food is added to the refrigerator or freezer.
