Hi - The refrigerator has Turbo Cool and Turbo Freeze settings. When either is selected, an extra boost of cold air restores interior to set temperature for optimum food freshness. You will typically see tC in the temperature display when set to TurboCool. It may look like an EC, an upside down F with a C, or something similar. This is not an error code, it is the Turbo Cool (tC) setting. See the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16611 - You will typically see 'Ft' in the temperature display when set to Turbo Freeze. It may look like an 'DEF', an upside down FA with an FA, or something similar. This is not an error code, it is the Turbo Freeze (Ft) setting. See the following link: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=18299 - Also, for reference, see page 11 of the Owner's Manual: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-60764.pdf - We hope this is helpful.
