QuestionWe want to use this dishwasher as a portable - does it include the required hoses and electrical cord or is that extra?

- Answer Hello, This is Joyce from GE. I will be happy to help. The dishwasher comes with everything you will need for a portable installation. In the future if you ever want to install it you will need a conversion kit. The conversion kit part number is WD35X10351. The conversion kits contain a water valve, hardware (brackets, screws, bolts, etc.) and instructions for adapting a GE convertible dishwasher to under-the-counter installation. Note: The conversion does involve alot of disassembly. The sides, top and rollers must be removed, water valve changed and springs re-located. Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!

QuestionHi does this chop food up dispose of it like my old whirlpool I have new one now and it has screen you have take out screen a lot just keep it clean and its annoying and not cleaning well at all

QuestionHow does this portable dishwasher work? Do you hook up a hose to the faucet to run water into the dishwasher and then how does the water drain, is there another hose that you need to put into a sink drain? How long is 1 cycle?

- Answer It hooks up to the spigot at the kitchen sink. There is a hose with an attachment that is self stored in the upper back side of the machine, along with a plug to plug into a wall outlet for power. If needed, the dishwasher comes with an adapter to put on the end of the spigot so that the hose can attach securely when in use. The water drains into the sink from the same attachment. For this machine, a regular cycle is about 1 hour.

QuestionSo if the plumbing connections are on the back then what is the conversion kit for? Can the water connections be moved to the bottom? Ours us a portable connected like a stationary with the connections on the bottom.

- Answer Hi Robin- Convertible/Portable dishwashers can roll to the sink to do the dishes and then roll out of the way when not in use. A convertible dishwasher gives you great flexibility, since you have the option to later build it in using a conversion kit. Conversion does involve some disassembly of the dishwasher. The sides, top and rollers must be removed, water valve changed and springs re-located. Conversion Kit WD35X10351 sold separately. The portable dishwasher is equipped with a unicouple that attaches to the sink faucet. The unicouple’s small hose carries water from the faucet to the dishwasher. The large hose carries water from the dishwasher to the sink. Orient the faucet with the unicouple attached so water from the unicouple will run into the sink drain. Dishwasher unicouple hoses are 32" from back of unit to the unicouple connection. The hose comes out of the back near the back left corner (same place as the power cord). If the unit is converted to built-in, the connections are made in the front behind the toekick. Thanks for checking with us! SUEatGEA

- Answer Hello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This unit has a "Hot Start Option" which will heat the water about 20 degrees F hotter than the incoming water. The incoming water temperature is suppose to be 120 degrees F in order for the dishwasher to clean properly. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

- Answer Hi-this is Sue from GE Appliances. The convertible/portable dishwasher is approximately (HxWxD) 36 3/8 in x 24 7/8 in x 27 in. Optional Conversion Kit WD35X10351 allows for built-in installation under standard 36" countertops. QuestionCan you remove the sump area on this dishwasher? I can’t figure out how to do it and it’s giving off a funky odor. I rinsed with vinegar but would actually like to clean it manually.

QuestionI have a Moen 87066SRS pull-down spray faucet. The wand does not have a conventional aerator, so will the dishwasher adapter still work? I believe I have to remove the wand to get access to any screw threads, and the hose threads look closer to 3/8".

You will find the adapter and two washers in the faucet adapter packet in the dishwasher. If the faucet adapter threads do not match your faucet spout, your local hardware or plumbing supply store normally has additional fittings to adapt the spout to the special faucet adapter.
