“Does this refrigerator "require" a water filter to dispense water/make ice? I have an RO system for my frig and dont need an overly expensive charcoal filter. I presently have a Samsung that requires a filter with no way to bypass, so $70 every 6 months”

• Hi Joe3- No, the water filter is not required. Simply install the filter bypass plug if you choose not to use the built-in water filter option. The bypass plug is installed in the same way as a filter cartridge. • Afraid so. It is in the side wall and is definitely in between the water line and the line for the ice/water panel.
