A:Answer Hello Karen - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. Congratulations on your new refrigerator! This is a very nice model and we're happy to help you. The most effective way to remove adhesive left from packing tape or labels on new appliances, and to ensure no damage is done to the finish of the product, is to apply one of the following: ~Household liquid dishwashing detergent; ~Mineral oil; ~Cooking oil; ~Goo Gone®. Apply any of these methods with a soft, clean cloth and allow it to soak. Wipe it clean with a dry soft cloth. Do not use a plastic pad or equivalent. Wipe the appliance dry and then apply polish to thoroughly clean and protect the surface. Precautions: Do not allow the mineral oil, cooking oil, or Goo Gone to come in contact with any plastic parts, especially the inner liner of a refrigerator. These items will destroy the plastic parts. Do not use Goo Gone on stainless steel appliances unless you have tested it in an inconspicuous area first. In some cases, Goo Gone can discolor or darken stainless steel. We hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
