Q: QuestionWhat is the meaning of the size (27 inch) for the kit. Does that cover a 27 inch opening? How do you determine the height? I have a PES7227sl1ss microwave. The cavity opening is 28 1/2 by 16 3/4. Do I need a 30" kit?

• A:Answer Kit design is poor. It is too big for a normal 27" hole. You have to make modifications!!!!!! Exact dimentions should be given in GE's site.

Q: QuestionDue to delays in time for a back order we are thinking of purchasing a black microwave (PEB7227ANDD) but want to use a stainless steel trim kit (JX7227SLSS). Is it OK to use a different trim ring and how wide are the sides of the trim kit?

• A:Answer These ONLY FIT the spcific models as stated by GE. It has to do with the swing pattern of the door and the exhaust circulation for the units. I would not try to improvise as the mountings are also specific. Good luck

• A:Answer I think it work if you glue a couple 3/4" wood shims on the top of the cutout for the anchor screws to grab. There will be a big gap on the top.
