  • QuestionI need to replace a 27" drop in electric range, GE #JM750R2 What do you recommend?

  • QuestionWe currently have a GE 27" drop-in range. I'm not sure of the model number but the installation book we have shows models JMS08GR, JMS10GR, JMP28GR, JMP29GR, MP31WR, JMP32AR. It was purchased and installed in October 1994. Will this range be the same?

    Asked by PallieJo.

    • Answer Hello there - It's difficult to compare this model and your current model without the full model number. The model number of your drop-in range can be located in several different places: behind the front door (on the front frame); under the left front surface unit (electric coil only); centered or on the right side, under the cooktop (life-up styles); on the left leg behind the drawer or kick panel; on the front frame, inside the drawer. Once you locate that, please connect with us directly via email on our website or by calling 1-800-626-2005 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET or 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET on Saturdays (we're closed on Sunday) and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to speaking with you! Best, Kelsey@GEA

  • Questionhow is the stove anchored ?

    Asked by kevko.

    • Answer Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us about this electric range. We understand how important the range being anchored and secure is, and are happy to advise. Anti-tip screws secure the range to the countertop. If those cannot be used in your particular situation, an anti-tip support can be mounted to the rear wall of the space the range is being installed in. A certain amount of countertop thickness (1 ½” minimum) is required to support the range and accommodate the ¾” anti-tip screw. Braces may need to be installed between the underside of the countertop and the cabinet to reach the necessary level of thickness for support. Further details are available in the installation instructions. We hope this information is helpful, and are happy to assist further if needed. All the best! -Sarah@GEA

  • QuestionWhat is the power requirements for the stove. 120V needs how many amps or is it only 220V and how many amps? Thank You.

    Asked by Jason.

    • Answer Hey there, and thanks for your interest in this drop-in range! You must use a single-phase, 120/208 VAC or 120/240 VAC, 60 Hertz electrical system. The unit needs to be supplied with the correct voltage and frequency and connected to an individual, properly grounded, 40 amp minimum branch circuit protected by a circuit breaker or time delay fuse. The Amp rating at both 208V and 240V is 40. We would always recommend having the wiring and hookup of your appliance connected only by a qualified electrician. We hope this is enough information for your electrical needs, but if you have any other questions or concerns we are always happy to help over social media. Wishing you the best! -Sarah@GEA

    Asked by TheMem.

    • Answer Hey there, and thanks so much for your interest in this drop-in electric range! We understand how important getting the right size is, and are happy to assist. After reviewing your older model, it looks like you have a 30" range. This model is a 27". If 30" is what you're looking for, we can advise we have a 30" electric range under model number JD630DFBB. The clean time can be changed to any time between 3:00 and 5:00 hours by using the +/- pads to select a different time and begin the cycle by pressing Start. • QuestionWhich 50 amp cord is recommended? 3 OR 4 prong? I am purchasing a New Stove to replace same as shown . BUT it’s Not wired to CODE so I’m having a licensed Electrician put a face plate receptical over the Open Box . So I can go either 3or 4 prong.??

    Asked by HungryHank.

    • Answer I am an Electrician and can answer that, you should do a 4 wire hook up but don't have to according to code if your house was built before 1979 before this code was adopted, it just means the neutral conductor ties together with the ground wire which can present a risk of a shock under the right conditions, albeit a small one. The unit will be 4 wire, it can be hard wired or plug and cord connected, either way.
