Hi fridgeHunter - Compact refrigerators do not have a defrost system with a defrost heater. These models are described as Manual Defrost or Partial Automatic Defrost. Fresh food compartment defrosting takes place automatically every time refrigerator turns off. The freezer will need to be manually defrosted when frost or ice in the freezer is 1/4" thick.
