Hi Gini25- Thanks for your purchase! The Spin cycle is approximately 15 minutes. This helps extract more water from the clothes, which in turns helps the dryer run less (saves dry time/energy use). To stop the wash cycle, press and hold the Start/Pause button for 3 seconds. Or, to pause the wash cycle, press the Start/Pause button. The Soak indicator will light up during the Delicates cycle only. This is because Delicates has periods of soak during the wash cycle so that it is more gentle on clothes. It will agitate, soak, agitate, soak, and so on until the end of the cycle. If the washer is not level and/or the load is unbalanced, the washer may vibrate more than normal. See the following troubleshooting link for more details: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17445 - If an out-of-balance condition is detected by the washer, the Spin light will blink during the remaining portion of the cycle and will stay illuminated for a short time after cycle completion. When this occurs, the washer is taking actions to correct the out-of-balance condition and complete the cycle normally. In some cases, the washer may not be able to balance the load and spin up to full speed. If you notice the load is more wet than normal at the end of the cycle, redistribute the load evenly in the wash basket and run a Drain & Spin cycle. For reference, see page 13 of the Owner's Manual at this link: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-90576.pdf - We hope this is helpful. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you pit anything in it lopsided or one side heavy then of course it will vibrate like crazy or even move. Washers are designed to handle even loads. Make sure you're not just putting on item in. Also if it's not on even ground or at least "leveled" then it will vibrate and bounce just like any other washer. The only solution is to level it with a level. Just because it looks level doesn't mean it is. All this applies to any washer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't know about stopping it, Gini, but I do know that you have to be careful that you have put all the settings correctly, I do not believe there is a soak cycle on the short wash.
