    Asked by Unhappy.

If the washer overflows when filling, it may be a water valve or pressure switch problem, which will require service. • QuestionPlease tell me the model number of the matching dryer for this unit, the washer, model #=GTW460ASJWW, and the washer model #= GTW685BSLWS. Anybody know the cu ft of my old whirlpool washer TAWS850pq0. Is not in the owners manual. Thanks

    Asked by Mikchaell.

    • Answer Hello Mikchaell - thanks for contacting GE Appliance regarding a new washer and dryer. This is Nancy and I am happy to help you. The matching dryer to the GTW460ASJWW would be either the GTD42EASJWW or GTX42EASJWW for electric or the GTD42GASJWW or GTX42GASJWW for gas. For the GTW685BSLWS washer, the matching dryer would be the GTD65EBSJWS for electric and the GTD65GBSJWS for gas. We're sorry, however, we do not have information on other brand models. We hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

  • QuestionMy washer won't fill up with water. Drains when it says fill

    Asked by Zodaniels31.

    • Answer I really don't know why the washer would do this. My advice would be to check your connections and make sure your drain hose is secure and not popping out...secure the drain hose to the hot/cold hoses with a plastic tie so it won't pop out when filling or draining. Check the selection dial and verify it's set properly (i.e. Load size, type of wash materials, and water amount). And, Good Luck...if your machine still malfunctions well, call a professional to check it. Beyond my ability to figure why.

  • QuestionMy new GE Washer was just delivered today. I have put clothes in and set on full load, pushed start and only about 1 inch of water runs in and then it starts to agitate? What is wrong? Do they need to come back and get it?

    Asked by JML.

    • Answer We agree, and experienced the same problem with the wash cycle starting with very little water. This not normal condition plus the cumbersome controls and noisy operation of this washer made it unusable. We requested its return for the selection of a different brand; Best Buy graciously worked with us to enable this return process to work as we are receiving a new washer of a different brand today.

    Asked by Laura.

    • Answer Hi Laura- Thanks for choosing GE! GE Appliances washer models meet or exceed the latest energy and water efficiency requirements. Therefore, you may notice that your washer fills with less water than your prior model did. This is normal. GE Appliances washers are designed for and are thoroughly tested using modern water levels and will provide the exceptional cleaning you have come to expect from GE Appliances. It is important to note that there must be sufficient water pressure supplied to the washer to ensure proper operation of the washer. The supply water pressure must be between 20 psi - 120 psi as specified in the washer's Installation Instructions. • QuestionI have a Gtw330 washer do one load of laundry and then won't start til next day ? Sometimes the next day it will start again. .Tried unplugging washer and that doesn't help. Sitting with water in it now and won't spin!

    Asked by rick01.

    • Answer Hi rick01- We are sorry to hear of this experience and glad to offer assistance. If your washer fills with water but does not agitate or spin, you may need to reset your washer motor. Current washers do not use a transmission, so the motor takes on a larger role in the drive system. If your washer senses a power spike, unbalanced load, or disruption in power it will send a fault code to your motor and may require the motor to be reset. See the following link for instructions/video: http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17391 - A qualified service technician is required for an accurate diagnosis.
