  • QuestionHow long is spin cycle to last mine is over 20minutes

    Asked by Joey.

    • Answer Hello Joey, thank you for your question. This cycle has a variable length depending on which setting is selected. For Quick Rinse/Rinse & Spin, the cycle will last approximately 7 minutes. If using fabric softener, you will need to add 3.5 minutes to this cycle. If you are using the Drain & Spin cycle, the length will be approximately 8 minutes. We hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any additional questions. Asked by MrsWiz.

    • Answer Hi MrsWiz - Thanks for reaching out to us about your unitized washer and dryer! We are sorry to hear that you had coins fall when opening the lint filter and can imagine that this has been a frustrating situation for you. If coins are left in the interior of the dryer, this has the potential to damage the unit or become a safety concern. It is recommended that you have the dryer interior and the ducting vacuumed by a qualified service technician annually. To make sure that your unit is clean and the coins are removed, please reach out to GE Factory Service by calling 1-800-432-2737 Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET, Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET, or schedule online at any time. • QuestionI just finished a load in my washer and it smells like it is burning. I have had it for less then a year so I don't think it should have this issue. How do I check to see what is wrong with it?

    Asked by AppleTV.

    • Answer Hi there, thank you for reaching out to us about your unitized washer and dryer. We truly appreciate your patience and are very sorry to hear of the issues you are having with a burning odor from your washer. We can imagine that this would be a stressful experience for you and are happy to help! A burning smell coming from a fairly new washer could be caused by the inlet hoses. Sometimes new inlet hoses put off a strong rubber odor that can be mistaken for a burning smell. To determine if the odor is coming from the inlet hoses, start the washer so that it fills with hot water and stop the washer before it starts to agitate. If you can smell the burning rubber from only the fill cycle (no motor or pump running) before it even starts to agitate, the problem is just the hoses. This is normal and will fade over time. However, you do not smell the odor from the fill cycle, we would recommend that you take advantage of your warranty and have a qualified service technician properly diagnose the issue. You can schedule an appointment with GE Factory Service by calling 1-800-432-2737 Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. ET, Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET, or schedule online at any time. We hope that this helps! -Eliza@GEA

  • QuestionI went to purchase this GE electric space maker and the salesman says it has to plugs in the back and one is hard wired. I am replacing my Kenmore stackable and I don't believe it has 2 plugs in back. Is it one big plug in back of this GE machine?

    Asked by Jade.

    • Answer Hi Jade - Thank you for reaching out to us and for your patience. We truly appreciate you choosing this unitized washer and dryer for your home and apologize for any confusion regarding the electrical supply. We are happy to help you with this! This unit should be connected to a 208/240 volt, individual, properly grounded branch circuit with a 3-prong grounding type receptacle, protected by a 30-amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse. The 240/208V will power the dryer, and the unit internally steps it down to 110/120V for the washer. - The terminal block at the rear of the unit will provide access for either electrical connections using a power cord or for direct wire connections. There is not a separate cord for the washer and the dryer, and the power cord should be purchased separately. We would recommend that you review pages 8-9 for guidance on electrical connections to prepare for this installation. Please feel free to reach back out to us if you have any additional questions about this installation or using this washer and dryer in the future. We are always happy to help! -Eliza@GEA

  • Questionhow about delivery with installation?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Delivery and installation was not good. I recommend picking up and installing yourself if you can. The two guys that delivered my unit would be better off driving a clown car. -They lost one of the feet for the washer/dryer unit They came 2 hours early and didn't call me until they were sitting in front of my house. I was at work and couldn't leave until the original time they said they'd be there. They banged up my molding around the closet when installing the unit. He noticed it and said,"oops, I didn't do that, did I?' Yes, you did! Before leaving, they tested the dryer and it made an awful metal on metal grinding noise. He quickly turned it off and told me that they didn't have time to take it back. He did call customer service on the spot and scheduled for someone to come back; however, It took another week to get someone to come take it back. They also didn't test the washer before leaving. So I turn it on after they left... It didn't work either. They forgot to turn on the water before leaving, so of course the washer didn't work. One of the guys even left his back brace/belt on my kitchen counter. One week later, the gentleman who came to pick up the unit was so sweet, but he smelled AWFUL! My entire house smelled like body odor after he left and I had to open all my windows. So, don't waste your money on delivery. Pick it up yourself if you can.

  • QuestionI need to drain my washer/dryer for the season as we have it at a cabin that is not climate controlled and it may freeze in the winter. Can you tell me what parts need to be drained for the season to avoid freezing and how to do this? Need antifreeze?

    Asked by CJ.

    • Answer Hi there CJ, Thank you for reaching out. We're happy to provide assistance. Here are the steps to winterizing your washer. 1)Turn off water supply faucets. 2)Disconnect the hoses from the water supply and drain out the water from the hoses. 3)Remove washer drain hose from drain. Lay hose on the floor and allow water to drain into a shallow pan or on the ground. 4)Carefully tilt the washer by raising the front of the washer 4" to 6" to allow any remaining water in the pump to drain out of the drain hose. For safety, DO NOT do this if the washer and dryer are stacked or the unit is a unitized washer/dryer. After sitting in a cold environment all winter it is best to let the washer "thaw" for 24 hours at room temperature. When it's time to use the washer again, simply connect the hoses at the faucets and turn the faucets back on, plug the washer back in to wall receptacle. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us via social media or through our Contact Us page. We hope this helps. Best wishes. Mike@GEA
