- Answer Hi - Thanks for the excellent question! GE Telescopic Downdraft Systems are designed and approved for cooktops only. They can't be used with ranges because the blower system and ductwork takes up the space needed for the oven. We suggest using an overhead vent. Click on the Features tab and scroll to the bottom to find the link to the Installation Guide. This literature is also available on our GE Appliances site when searching using the model number of the vent system.

This vent is Approved for use with the following: Monogram,GE Profile™ Series, and GE® Series cooktops–30" electric models, 30" gas sealed-burner models and 30" induction models.
