Me too!! ... i literally have used my brand new A/C about 10 times and now the filter light keeps blinking red ... so i did what GE said and took out the filter (which baaaaaarely had any lint/dirt on it but figured i would wash it anyway) ... so i let it dry, put it back in and the stupid filter light is STILL BLINKING RED ... why is this happening??? sooooo disappointing

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Same issue with us. There was a power outage yesterday and when the power came back on, the red filter light was on and the unit wouldn't stop beeping. We clean out our filter regularly and just in case, we cleaned it out again but the issue remained. What can we do to fix this?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm in the same boat!! Has anyone found a solution?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Re set filter after cleaning then once the filter is dry and in the unit you simply hit two things at the same time and it will reset the red light to off. This will last for about 200 days and then you can check the filter again and repeat. The two items pressed at the same time????? The temperature up and temperature down buttons at the exact same time will reset the red light and turn it off!

The air filter behind the front grille should be checked and cleaned at least every 30 days or more often if necessary. To remove: Open the inlet grille by pulling downward on the tabs at the top upper corners of the inlet grille until the grille is in a 45º position. Remove the filter. Clean the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse and let the filter dry before replacing it. Do not clean the filter in a dishwasher. Also, be sure to not run the air conditioner while the filter is removed, this could cause lint to clog the unit and it may affect the performance. We hope that this helps! Stay safe.
