Anthony, I think your machine is a lemon. Return for a replacement or refund. You probably have a leak somewhere in the enclosed system. In my experience, the self-evaporating machines do not fill regularly—possibly on extremely humid days. With my previous units, I only had to drain the machine when something in the system leaked, which is next to impossible to fix these days.

Even though you aren't in a particularly high humid environment. Don’t be too concerned. Once it has finished dehumidifying all of this, there shall be a reduction of the number of times you have to empty it. Closing the windows and doors in the space you’re running the unit brings down the square footage its covering and could be helpful. In any case, your model will have more moisture to tackle if your living room is getting a continuous stream of humid air from outside. ~Additional information: Under certain conditions like extreme humidity or trying to cool multiple rooms, the AC may not be able to evaporate all the water it is removing. Make sure that the doors and windows in the room you are cooling are closed. If you drain the water from the base of the unit, following the instructions in the Use & Care Manual, you can turn the unit back on and it will resume operation. We hope this is helpful! Joyce@GEA
