If the model is installed for recirculating and not vented to the outside, the air needs to be recirculated through a disposable charcoal filter that helps remove smoke and odors. Optional JXCF55 - Charcoal Filter (sold separately). We also offer Universal 36" Telescopic Downdraft System UVB36SKSS. The telescopic downdraft vent is a venting alternative to a range hood. When not in use the downdraft vent retracts down into the cabinet, leaving only a thin hinged cover showing. This type of vent is ideal for a kitchen island. This is approved for use with the following Monogram, GE Profile™ Series and GE® Series cooktops–36" electric models, 36" gas sealed-burner models and 36" induction models.
