The reason why the Deep Fill feature doesn't work is because it's a cheap GE product. I see the GE tech gave you an answer that the Deep Fill doesn't work on the Normal/Colors wash cycle; but the Deep Fill on my GE washer doesn't work on any cycle. And all this happened shortly after the warranty expired. Next time, when you get a new washer, don't get a GE. :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same issue, NOT nearly enough water. Did a large dark load today, setting on correctly! Was ADVISED to NOT use NORMAL, ???? I did chose deep fill, came back to look after the water was finished running and it had started to agitate, the clothes on top were not even wet, I had to add 3 pairs of water. This is nuts, They advise to use a 2 nd rinse and tell me that saves water??? This is so very frustrating.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased the exact model and it never filled to the same level twice & only once to what I’d say is an acceptable level. I also resorted to the bucket routine for a couple days then returned the piece of garbage. Fortunately I kept my old Kenmore 80 series circa 1994 & for less than $100 rebuild it. New motor coupling new pump new master switch. When I set my old one to the high level setting it feels to the brim every time and if I wanted to rinse with hot water it rinses with hot water! I honestly don’t think there is a washing machine made today that allows manual control.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the GE repair man here now. This is by far the worst washing machine I have ever purchase. The top of the basin started rusting within the first few months I had it. It never fills properly. Lucky to get 3 inches of water. Piece of garbage do not buy this machine. As for them saying you can put a king size quilt in the tub. You can’t. I wouldn’t even try
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My GE GTW485 it also wont deep fill. if you call 7 inches of water in tub is deep fill.I did get it to deep fill today by pressing the deep fill button ,but that was it it never worked ,Oh ya GE are you going to reimbursement service call since you know this is going on....Repair man coming this Wed. LOL i could use a bigger bucket ,for carrying my water to fill up tub
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you use the colors setting try using the heavy setting is the soil mode...worked for me. I was able to add additional water even when it was in wash mode. I had the temp setting at warm, not sure if that makes any difference though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We also have GE washer and dryer set. Dislike both. Deep fill never works and the dryer doesn’t dry well. Actually, after only 3 years our washing machine completely stopped working! We are waiting for our new set to be delivered today! Oh! It’s not GE.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The setting has to be on one of the settings in silver on the left first. Then press and hold for 3 seconds.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just purchased this washer and I couldn't be more disappointed. Like everyone I tried the deep fill and it gave me about 4 inches of water. It makes me wonder how full it is getting on my regular loads. I looked in the manual and it does not state that it has to be on a particular cycle (if that is even true from some of the other responses I've seen). I have all GE appliances in my kitchen and with the exception of the microwave they have all broken in some capacity within a couple years. I had to replace the dishwasher after 5 years and you can bet it wasn't with another GE appliance. I am secretly hoping that this washer dies so I can replace it. The dryer seems to work fine (so far!).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Assuming you are using the correct settings, you should know, the deep fill doesn't actually "fill" until half way through the wash cycle.... (I thought mine was broken too). So it will start with that small amount of water and then about half way through the "wash" cycle it should activate the deep fill.
