QuestionHello I bought this washer 7months ago and I love it but just the other day I was doing laundry and when I went to go switch the load over it was still full of water so I tried the drain and spin button and it did nothing but turn off after 2mins

- Answer Hi Sherri- The matching dryer is GTD65EBSJWS- Electric / GTD65GBSJWS- Gas. The dryer must be vented to the outdoors. REQUIREMENTS FOR ALCOVE OR CLOSET INSTALLATION: Minimum clearance between dryer cabinet and adjacent walls or other surfaces is: 0” either side, 1” front, 1” rear, 1” top. Consideration must be given to provide adequate clearance for installation and service. Closet doors must be louvered or otherwise ventilated and have at least 60 square inches of open area. If the closet contains both a washer and a dryer, doors must contain a minimum of 120 square inches of open area. NOTE: WHEN THE EXHAUST DUCT IS LOCATED IN THE REAR OF THE DRYER, THE CONFIGURATION OF THE DUCTING MAY REQUIRE GREATER THAN 1” OF REAR CLEARANCE. QuestionDoes your 4.2 cubic 14 cycle top loader enable one to manually dial to spin and have just that option if they hand washed and just want to get out some of the water? Also, does the 4.2 have a quicker wash load than 4.6? 4.2 looks more manual vs digital?

- Answer Hi Customer- Both GE® 4.6 GTW680BSJWS and GE® 4.2 GTW460ASJWW have a Drain & Spin cycle and Speed Wash cycle. GTW680BSJWS has an Infusor and recirculation pump. Loads are thoroughly saturated with this recirculation pump that moves water and detergent through clothes. A patented Infusor replaces the agitator. Top-load washers with an Infusor will not have a traditional agitator. The Infusor replaces the agitator and is approximately 7 1/2" high and has a wide base (wash plate) that works alone or with the wash basket to provide different types of wash action. With an Infusor, the clothes stay near the wash plate. The mechanical action of the Infusor moves the clothes through the water and against the sides of the tub and down around the Infusor. This wash system is softer and quieter during agitation.The Infusor also rotates (or oscillates) back and forth to "measure" resistance on it's surface to determine the load size. This provides Adaptive Water Fill so the washer auto-fills with just the right amount of water needed for great wash performance. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA

QuestionHello, does this washer include the fill and drain hoses? There are no "essential parts for installation" in the accessories section.

- Answer You have to purchase fill hoses if you would like Best Buy to set it up for you, as it does not come with the fill hoses. It does come with the empty hose.

- Answer I ordered mine on Dec 19, 2017 and did not receive it until January 22, 2018. Long wait! However, I like the machine a lot now that I FINALLY have it. And while I was waiting for it to be delivered, I was able to get a price adjustment when the price dipped below what I paid.

- Answer Hi CSmith- Auto Soak option begins with a brief agitation, soaks for a specified period of time, then moves through the rest of the cycle automatically. It does not drain the water from the tub. Thanks for choosing our GE® GTW680BSJWS. Enjoy! SUEatGEA

QuestionThere is a button called the deep fill on the GE 4.6 GTW680BSJWS on the other machine there's a button called deep clean GE 5.1 GTW860SSJWS. Is it the same as the deep fill? Thanks Barbara

- Answer Hi Barbara- This is Sue at GE Appliances. We are excited to hear of your interest in our Top Load Washers! Deep Clean option increases the target temperature from the standard target. The system monitors water temperature at times during the wash cycle. If the temperature drops too much, the system will compensate by adding short soaks or extending agitation time, depending upon the cycle, to deliver a deep clean. The Deep Fill option will add additional water to the wash load. Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add 3 gallons of water to the wash load. Once the washer has stopped filling, you can press it again to add 3 more gallons. Press and hold Deep Fill button for 3 seconds to have the washer fill to the maximum water level (approximately 26 gallons). Thanks for checking with us!

- Answer Good Day; My H2O supply shut off mid wash and then displayed H2O supply and sounds like its draining even after water resumed. Apparently GE top load washers have a safety mode for 3-4 mins where this is displayed even if water resumes. You need to leave it on this alarm for the duration and it will shut off the pump afterwards you'll get control. Unplugging would just restart the counter.

The unit will automatically drain any time the lid is left open for more than 15 minutes and water is present. Make sure lid is closed. Safety feature prevents agitation and spinning when lid is up. - Answer Hi Sirj - Thanks for reaching out to us! The washer will adapt the run time within the cycle and from load to load, so the actual cycle times will vary. Also, the cycle times will vary based on the options selected (Deep Fill, Auto Soak, Deep Rinse, Extra Rinse, Soil Level, etc.). Speed Wash will not options selected is approximately 19 minutes. Casuals cycle with no options selected is approximately 36 minutes (does not include the time is takes to fill/drain). Stain PreTreat option adds approximately 15 minutes to the overall cycle time. Individual settings for agitation (Soil), water temperature (Temp), and spin (Spin) can be set from the minimum (lowest in column) to maximum (highest in column). QuestionHow do I tell how much detergent I have left in my machine?

- Answer Hi JudieB - If you have a new washer with SmartDispense™ (GTW750CSLWS/GTW755CSMWS) it holds enough detergent for about 50 average laundry loads, depending on what dispense amount is selected. To ensure detergent is always available, liquid detergent should be added to the reservoir whenever there is no longer detergent visible when looking directly into the filling port. While the visible part of the filling port is only about 2” deep, the tank is a long, shallow tank (think of filling up a cookie sheet with water as an analogy) that has a slight taper down. When detergent is no longer seen in the detergent cup, there is roughly 18 oz of detergent remaining. This is good for about 10 loads based off of average usage. The bulk tank/reservoir has no level sensor so visual inspection is required. - Answer Hi Doug - Thanks for choosing GE! We are sorry to hear of this issue with the dispenser. If you are using single-dose laundry packets (pods) they should not be added to the dispenser drawer, as they will not dispense properly. Put packets (pods) in bottom of wash basket. HE detergent should be added to the right side of the dispenser drawer. Also, be sure the siphon caps in the dispenser are free of debris and pushed fully back into place after cleaning. To reset the electronics, unplug washer, wait 2 minutes, plug back in and press Start. If it does not fill, check your house water supply and make sure both supply valves are fully on. As soon as the message starts to scroll, the washer will initiate a 4 minute lockout period. The washer controls won’t respond/change during this time. After the 4 minutes, you can begin your cycle again. If you try to bypass the lock-out period by unplugging the washer, the 4 minute timer will start over again.
