Hi ladyYik - Thanks for your interest! During the operation of UltraFresh Vent System with OdorBlock feature, the door will remain locked and the washer will intermittently spin at low speeds for up to 8 hours. The UltraFresh Vent System with OdorBlock feature may be cancelled at any time by pressing the Power pad, turning the cycle knob, or pressing ULTRAFRESH VENT pad. The Ultra Fresh Vent will consume approximately 490 Watts/hr of energy and cost approximately $0.06 per use when using the Department of Energy s standard cost. We recommend running the Ultra Fresh Vent cycle at the conclusion of whatever wash cycles have been run for the day, whether that is a single cycle or a full laundry day with 7 or 8 cycles in a row. There would not be a need to run the Ultra Fresh Vent cycle on days where no laundry was cleaned. We suggest viewing the following link for more details and video on this innovative feature- FRONT LOAD WASHERS - ULTRAFRESH VENT SYSTEM WITH ODORBLOCK™: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=39770 - If you need further assistance, keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As the store associate said here it's not that much power consuming and it runs for 420 minutes which is 8 hours and to me it's not noisy as it spin the drum slowly every 15 minutes. It doesn't bother me not even a bit the sound is ultimately low, it's good to turn this on after you're done washing loads and you know you're done for the day
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s intermittent, but it does run for about 8 hours off and on. Not really loud. More of a light whirring noise, but it can get old… especially if you are a light sleeper and you run it overnight. Mostly I just keep the door ajar to allow it to dry. It’s worth noting this is the feature that allows you to wash AND dry a small light load of clothes in the washer. If you choose the 1 step wash + dry cycle, after running the wash load, the unit pulls air into the washer using the fresh vent and air dries whatever clothing you washed. It won’t dry a pair of jeans, but I’ve used it to wash light clothes for the next day knowing I wouldn’t get up to put them in the dryer. Or if I’m leaving for the day, but need something washed and dried for when I get home and I don’t have time to wait to put it in the dryer. Not something you would use all the time, but convenient to have the option.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.only had for a few weeks I don't thing you need to run ultafresh every time I only use it when I know I am not going to use washer for a couple days and if I remember in manual it only runs for a short period of time not hours, and is very quiet . So far I LOVE this washer
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it was quite at first but after 4 months it has got a lot louder to the point where i don't use the feature anymore. my machines are in my house and i can hear it with the laundry room door shut
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The ultra fresh vent feature run for up to 8 hours. In my opinion this is way too much energy consumption and a lot of wear and tear on the machine. The washer is energy efficient because it uses less water to wash clothes, however it consumes twice as much electricity with longer was cycles and the ultra fresh vent feature runs for up to 8 hrs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have only had the washer for a short time but I love it. I have used the vent cycle but I have not let it run for the full cycle. The drum seems to be dry but I do take a paper towel and wipe the mist off the glass and inside the gasket on the door. I’m going to let it run one day to see just how long it will run.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Never really timed it but it does not run very long, and is not that noisy. The noise is definitely audible but not annoying
