There's no cover for it mine is open to if you are using it in the garage just make a temporary cover with cardboard and duct tape will solve your problem and yes they do not put covers on that back there or use something else entirely to your discretion differently cardboard will do it its in the back you'll never see it i have mine in the house for rodent free area hope this helps

Please try again later.Hi John- Some chest freezers, including FCM5SKWW, do not come with a rear cover plate where the power cord comes out, even though the case may have holes where screws could go. A cover plate cannot be added to these models. This is part of the design and normal. Thanks for choosing GE! SUE@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same question, I ended calling the manufacturer (GE) and they said theres no cover or shutter for that area, that this model was design like that for easy access for service. Hope this answer can help.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, that is not right. Mine has a full cover and still will frost up fast if top has the least bit of opening as it appears to be slightly warped. I imagine no back panel can do the same.
