Thank you for reaching out to us! Garage Ready refers to units that are designed to operate at cold temperatures in the winter, and warm temperatures in the summer. A regular freezer will have a harder time operating under extreme temperatures in a non-heated area such as a garage. We hope this helps – Matthew@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Garage ready means it will operate in cold temperatures. Most refrigerators and freezers will stop properly cooling if the air outside the fridge is too cold. So in northeast Ohio in a non-heated garage, your freezer will work all year until about mid december and then won't consistently or properly freeze food until March when the weather starts to be warmer.
