Q: QuestionDoes the Stacking Kit GFA28KITN add anything to the total height of the washer-dryer combo?

Q: QuestionWill the13 inch tall pedestals from my older GE Adora washer and dryer fit this model? They appear to use the same mounting system.

Q: QuestionWe previously had whirlpool duet’s. When I had upgraded to the newest model, it was hard to wash rugs as the load would be off balance. My older duets had no problem washing a load of rugs. How does this GE Model do when washing a load of rugs?

Q: QuestionSome photos show the unit with and some without the pedestal. Is it included or sold separately? If sold separately, what is the cost? Does it have a pull-out drawer and serve as a storage area, as well?

• A:Answer Hi Stuart. No, the pedestals are NOT included. However, they are storage units. The cost is approximately $279 , a bit expensive!! This unit 5.0 is quite large. Unless you have a significant size laundry room, I’d forgo the pedestals.

• A:Answer Hi EML - Thanks for considering GE Model # GFW850SSNWW! We have good news. The wash cycle can be paused after starting to allow for extra items to be added. Press Start/Pause and wait until the door is unlatched. The washer may take up to 30 seconds to unlock the door after pressing Start/Pause, depending on the machine conditions. Do not try to force open the door when it is locked. After the door unlocks, open gently. Add items, close the door and press Start/Pause to restart. Also, if it is desired to manually add detergent for a load, that detergent will need to be added directly to the basket, and the SMART DISPENSE set to off for that particular load. The smart dispense feature can be disabled by pressing the SMART DISPENSE pad until off is selected. The quick wash typically last about 35 minutes or a cycle with all the bells and whistles, like Sanitize, can take over 2 hours. A typical normal wash will take anywhere from 50 to 70 minutes. • A:Answer I'lm not sure if this will help you.... I have the Diamond Gray and the settings are a light gray and can be easily seen. I'lm sure it is that way on all of the different colors since the settings panel would be the same part on all of the machines and the different colors would just be the outer shell.
