Hello Bakermom - Thank you for reaching out about your range. We are happy to help. Trivection used a combination of thermal, convection, and microwave cooking. True European convection does cook faster than traditional ovens. However, it does not use microwave heating. We suggest taking a look at our Advantium ovens for this sort of technology that allows speed cooking. Thanks. - JB
