A:AnswerPlease be careful when you allow Best Buy to install your appliances. I purchased a stove from Best Buy and had it installed September 4, 2019. The first time it was installed by Best Buy there was a gas leak. We had to turn the gas off and open the doors and windows to air our our house. When we called we had to wait until September 9, 2019 to have another Best Buy installer come to fix the gas leak. The installer confirmed that the first Best Buy installers did not put a protective sealant to stop the gas from leaking out. After that second installer left, less than an hour there was another smell of gas. This time we had to call the gas company, they advised us to go outside and wait
The gas company came out to our home and had to turn the gas off because our gas reading was at a number 4 on the scale they use between 0-1. The gas company left a caution sign on our new stove installed by Best Buy twice, not to use because of the gas leak.
We called and spoke to Best Buy Corporate and was told that the unit might be faulty and offered to switch the unit. We let Best Buy Corporate know that the gas company confirmed that the stove is not the problem, but the way it was poorly installed. We decided to keep the stove and have an outside company install the stove and have Best Buy pay for it. Best Buy Corporate said after it is installed to call them back to have compensation, but still thought it is the stove that is faulty.
On September 13, 2019, we had an appointment with an independent contractor called Royal Appliance, they installed the stove and used all the proper equipment needed to install the stove and we have not had a problem since. However, when we called Best Buy Corporate back, they informed us that our compensation would be $105 on a Best Buy gift card. We explained that it is unacceptable, because lives could have been lost due to the negligence of the two Best Buy installers. Best Buy Corporate told us that the most they are willing to give for compensation is $105 on a Best Buy gift card, but if we go to the store we can get more.
When we spoke to the Best Buy where we bought the stove, they offered us $60. Then we asked for more and then Best Buy said they will give us $80. We asked for at least what Best Buy Corporate offer. Best Buy then said they would give us $100. for almost losing our lives from two gas leaks because the Best Buy installer do not know how to install stoves.

A:AnswerHi texasdlm - This model has Steam Clean and not self-cleaning. Steam Clean allows for quick cleaning of minor food spills at temperatures lower than the standard self-clean feature so you can avoid the time required for conventional self-clean ovens. Simply pour 1 cup of water into the bottom of a cool oven. Close the door and select Steam Clean. The cycle lasts about 30 minutes, and loosens and softens the grime in the oven. Thanks for considering GE Model # JGSS66SELSS. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com for all your appliance needs! Sue
A:AnswerHi - Yes! All of our gas cooking appliances come ready to be connected to natural gas; however, they also come with an LP conversion kit to connect to LP (Liquid Propane). We recommend a qualified installer or servicer convert the gas range to the proper gas supply needed. The conversion must be in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. The conversion instructions are located in the wiring diagram (mini-manual) or included with the LP kit attached to the appliance near the pressure regulator. Thanks for choosing GE. Enjoy! Sue
A:AnswerMine is against the wall, and it doesn't' loo like it doesn't belong there. I bought a trash compactor once that was supposed to fit into the counter, but I intend to use it freestanding, and it looked only half put together. This stove looks great.
A:AnswerHi,
Good question! We appreciate your interest and we'd like to help. We found that the grates of this range are Cast Iron. You can find this info in the specifications table. Have a great day!

A:AnswerHello there! We appreciate your questions. We're sorry that the timer on your current range is not loud enough. We see how this can be frustrating. We do not have the decibel rating for the range's timer and found that the timer sound cannot be adjusted. We're sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. Stay safe. Emily@GEA
A:AnswerHello Mac2019 - Thank you for your interest; we are happy to help! There is no ENERGY STAR label for residential ovens, ranges, or microwave ovens at this time. Ranges are not subject to DOE (Department of Energy) requirements for energy usage and therefore do not have energy guide labels. Thanks for checking. Olga
A:AnswerThe grill plate has a great finish, it almost wipes clean I was impressed with how easy the cleanup was. Haven't done the grates yet. But I am a messy cook. And nothing has stuck to any part yet.
A:AnswerHi Mari- Metal utensils should not be used on the non-stick surface of the griddle. Use only plastic, nylon, wooden utensils, or Silverstone kitchen tools to prevent marring of the coating. See page 9 of the Owner's Manual for reference: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-2000316.pdf - Keep in touch! SUE@GEA
