“I know a 23 inch wide window is recommended, but has anyone tested it on a 22 inch window? I have a 500 square foot area and a 22 inch wide casement window. Any other window unit recommendations? Thanks!”

Yes. I have 22" windows and gambled that it would fit. This is what I did. I put the unit in the window with only the left pull out screen installed. I slid the whole unit to the right ( i just picked that side, you could go the the left side if wanted) so the AC unit was up against the side of the window. I then used some of the foam insulation that comes with the unit ( and there is plenty) to put between the unit and the window to make a good seal. Then I pulled the left screen out to seal against the other side of the window. Worked just fine. It will be slightly off center in the window however. But if that doesn't bother you, its no problem. I will say if you put both screens on each side, it WILL NOT fit. One has to be left off. Other than that, Works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The unit itself is only 19” wide. If you use custom panels (there are third party cut to fit foam panels available), you can fit it into a 22” window easily. The included panels will not fit, however.
