Q: QuestionI’m not used to dryers. I’m assuming it drys by auto heat sense the top of the dial or you can choose time, the bottom of the dial. The right dial says cotton or casual. I have mixed cloths and am to lazy to separate. What is safe to in mixed condition.

• A:Answer Hello there - thanks for connecting with us. This electric dryer can be vented to the left, right, bottom, or rear of the cabinet. We do recommend using the rear exhaust cover plate if you plan to exhaust from the bottom or sides. It's part number is WE49X22606. Q: QuestionOur GE electric dryer all of a sudden started making a loud noise. It’s been getting very hot and melted the graphics on my sweatshirt. My husband made sure the venting was clear of debris so it’s not that. He even tried balancing the feet.

• A:Answer I had to purchase the dryer kit required with this dryer in order for the store to do the installation. I could not use the hose hookup in my application. If you are installing it yourself then you can purchase these items separately. The hose that Best Buy carries to the hard rigid hose and due to the limited space in my laundry area I had to have a more flexible hose. The installation crew went ahead and used the one I had and told me to return the one I was required to purchase.

• A:Answer Hi Babs- The energy cost of gas and electric dryers depends on many variables, such as: The washer's ability to remove water from the clothes. Type and size of load. How dryer is used (timed dry vs sensor dry). Efficiency of the dryer (Ex. Is the lint filter and ducting clean?). Local gas and electric rates. Dryers are exempted from energy labeling because of the many variables that affect energy use and cost. Note: Some dryer models are Energy Star Qualified and will be marked as such. For information about the approximate energy cost for a gas and/or electric dryer, contact your local utility company for your rates.
