Oddly enough, on a GTD33EASKWW dryer the temp knob will rotate 360 in either direction. Turn the knob clockwise 2 full turns, does the buzzer now sound any different?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Instead of removing the buzzer, can the volume be turned down?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. First unplug the dryer then, by removing the two 1/4” hex head screw on the back of the top control section, then push it back and lift up the control section exposing the controls and wiring. There is a little black buzzer relay there affixed to the top of dryer. It’s the End Of Cycle Buzzer (EOC). It has a black and red wire. Remove the black wire for the EOC and from the timer control. Roll it up and lay it back in there in case you decide you missing out on the annoying sound. Close it back up and enjoy your dryer without the Buzzer. Oh and if you have a warranty issue plug it back up before the service call, just in case.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We also thought that buzzer was awful and I just fixed it yesterday! I am no electrician but here is what I did. The top plastic control area comes off with two hex head screws on the back. I didn't pay attention to what size but probably 1/4 inch. Inside this we found an additional folded up document showing assembly info including the pins of the control knob where the buzzer connector is. AFTER UNPLUGGING THE DRYER or turning off the breaker, I disconnected the wire going to the end of cycle buzzer. I taped over the connector with electrical tape and tucked it in the plastic wire holder with other wires. So far we have a working dryer and no buzzing! GREAT!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Was able to stop the buzzer by removing the black wire at both ends with plyers. Wasn't hard to remove the top panel to access the wires as described by the other commenters, and the dryer works perfectly no problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As others have mentioned, after removing the panel on the back of the control panel, simply unplug the wire that goes from the control to the buzzer. Looking at the control module from the back, the tab labeled "S" is the black wire that connects the control to the End of Cycle buzzer. Disconnect that black wire from the control and the buzzer won't sound. It would be simple to install a switch on the front panel if there is a reason someone might want to turn the buzzer back on. It's a single wire to interrupt or connect through a switch should the need arise.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Removing back cover and disconnecting the black wire from both ends solved the buzzer problem! Thanks everyone. Now if I can figure out why GE would design such a awful and lengthy buzzer sound? My new washer also makes a annoying, too loud sound when agitating. Wish I would have returned this combo to Lowes within return policy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. All the answers above were super helpful. Some addition details that people mentioned is, there are 2 verticle screws and 5 horizontal screws. If you have amble room to work in the back, you can take the metal plating and 5 screws off only and can access buzzer. Otherwise remove the 2 verticle screws. In order to remove the plastic top cover, don't pull upward! Rotate it back and to the front. Worse case there's a green paper with diagrams and instructions for removing this plastic cover.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I wish!!! I hate it too!
